How The Earth’s Energy May Affect Your Health.

Electromagnetic fields and other forms of radiation from the earth can have a potentially stressful and unhealthy effect on people. This is a view that has gained much more weight by both orthodox and alternative health practitioners as the science of quantum physics is showing proof that this is indeed the case. The name given to this effect is Geopathic Stress and this may contribute to illnesses ranging from Insomnia, Migraine, Rheumatism, and Cancer.

The idea of physical and geological features can affect people’s health is not a new one. The Chinese have long practised Feng Shui – a way of positioning objects and structures such as houses, furniture, roads, and wells so that they are in harmony with what is seen as the natural flow of energy in the earth. Some people in the west believe that prehistoric standing stones such as those at stonehenge were placed to protect people from the effects of geopathic stress.

Many factors are thought to cause geopathic stress. Among those considered important are so-called “Ley Lines”, lines of energy that are said to correspond to underground streams of water or small electrical currents produced by pressure on quartz crystals in the ground. Man-made structures such as railways, overhead power lines, large buildings and quarries may all interrupt the natural pattern of ley lines and cause further geopathic stress.

Another factor is the effect of magnetic storms on the surface of the sun – sunspots. When sunspots are particularly active, they disturb the earth’s magnetic field and these periods also appear to coincide with human disasters such as wars and famines. Heart attacks too, are said to become more common during sunspot activity. Certain minerals such as granite contain radioactive substances or release radioactive radon gas which cause illnesses such as lung cancer. Parts of the north-east of the USA are particularly affected as are Britain’s south-west counties and midlands, where special methods are sometimes used to make houses safer.

Generally, geopathic stress is thought to affect city dwellers less than people in country areas, where there are fewer people to soak up earth radiation. It is also said to be stronger inside buildings than outside, since electrical wiring systems can enhance the effect of other electromagnetic fields. This would certainly point to a major reason people feel better outside than inside on sunny days. The most serious effects of geopathic stress is it’s impact on weakening the immune system. This significantly increases the risk of conditions like cancer, Myalgic Encephalomylitis, aArthritis, Insomnia, Migraine, Multiple Sclerosis, Leukemia, Depression, Hypertension increased stress levels and the list goes on.
